The unusual warm weather we have been experiencing here in the West Midlands of the UK has brought with it some unwelcome guests, cockcoaches. The West Midlands has a damp climate, but, with the recent warm sunshine this has allowed the proliferation of the species. In the above photo, a pregnant cockroach gave birth within 24 hours to 36 nymphs, showing just how much of a pest these are to the local food preparation industry.
